The morning drive started off with a large herd of zebra; but the highlight of the drive was definitely spotting Karula the female leopard. She was slowly walking down the road with a Franklin in her mouth, unfortunately we had missed the action but she made up for it when she lay down and slowly started plucking the feathers from the bird; this was fantastic to watch. We left her and came across a rhino bull feeding next to the road and shortly after leaving him we bumped into the male leopard, Mafufanyane. He was walking down the road and we were able to follow him for quite a distance. General game was once again in abundance with a lot of giraffe being seen. We found Karuala, female leopard, and her cubs drinking water at one of the small waterholes. Next to be viewed was Mafufanyane, male leopard, walking down the road; he then lay down and started grooming himself. We slowly started making our way back to the lodge and found a Bush baby and a Spotted Eagle Owl. |
