The open area in front of the lodge was extremely active this morning with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and jackal. This was followed by three Dagga boys, old buffalo bulls, who had all come down to enjoy an early morning drink at the pan. Bird life today was also great with sightings of Vultures and Tawny Eagles. On our way back to the lodge we found an elephant bull slowly grazing next to the main road; he was very relaxed. Once again great sightings of kudu, zebra and wildebeest were enjoyed in front of the lodge. Further down the road we came across a bachelor herd of Dagga boys, old buffalo bulls. We then found the female leopard, Safari, slowly walking down the road. We followed her and she lead us to Matimba, her son; some wonderful interaction took place between them. He followed her to a kill she had made earlier where they both enjoyed the meal as they lay in the tree. We eventually left them and started making our way back to lodge but found two Civets on the driveway. |
