The morning drive started on a high note when first to be found was 4 Rhino.....we spent some time with them as they offered us great photographic opportunities with the sunrise just behind them. General game was in abundance with great sightings of Blue Wildebeest and Impala. On driving though a crossing we moving along the incline we came across an angry miserable Elephant bull. I looked and could see that he was in full musth and this was the reason for his behavior, he was coming straight at us with fury in his walk. My tracker shouted "reverse reverse he is coming". I put my vehicle into reverse and started reversing but I knew that the drainage line was right behind me... there is no way I'm going to go through in reverse but my tracker said you have no choice. So I reversed and the elephant was about 15 - 20 meters away from me and he was going to do damage. But I just carried on reversing through the drainage line back to the water hole... man that was a close call. All my tracker could say was "one wrong move there and we would have had some fun". We then stopped for a coffee break and then slowly started making our way back to the lodge to enjoy breakfast.
On leaving the lodge for the afternoon we found Leopard tracks and followed them for a long time before we spotted Salaheshe in a tree. We had found her on foot and now had to drive in with the guests, this would be a difficult task but one that would be done. Salaheshe was extremely relaxed and offered us great photographic opportunities. The sun was just right and she just kept on posing for us and jumping from branch to branch. We left the sighting and decided to stop and enjoy a sundowner with an amazing sunset in the west. General game was in abundance and we then slowly started making our way back to the lodge. As we approached the lodge Thomas the tracker shone the spot light over Nkorho pan and to our surprise there we spotted some lions lying next to the pan, two females and one male. They then spotted some in Impala in the distance but the Impala had already seen them and raced off, the Lions then laid down and slept in the road. We returned to the lodge with the hope that the Lions would still be in front of the loge in the morning.
