The morning drive started off with a bang with Ntchila, the male leopard, being sighted lying in a tree very close to the lodge. He had an extremely full belly and was relaxed; clearly he was not going to go anywhere anytime soon. We then received a call on the radio saying a cheetah had been found. We decided to follow up on this and found her lying in an open plain. She was quite jittery, so not much time was spent with her. Next we came across a male lion and two lionesses from the Chilada pride busy basking in the sun. As always plenty of general game was seen.

Right in front of the lodge we had some good sightings of general game and then decided to follow up on Ntchila. Unfortunately though he had moved off and we were unable to find him again. We also followed up on the lions of this morning; they had moved a short distance and had managed to kill a warthog. The male was very protective of the kill and was not over eager to share it with the females. There was lots of interaction between the male and females, which allowed us great photographic opportunities.
